"I am here for you"

"I am here for you" that is the best thing you can say to someone dealing with infertility. Most people don't understand how hard it is when you are trying to conceive and it just is not happening.  They say things thinking they are being helpful but many times their words can be very hurtful. When dealing with infertility you feel very alone. That is why the best thing to say to a loved one dealing with infertility is " I am here for you" . Let that person know that you are there for them even if you don't know what it feels like. You still love them and are willing to listen. Stay away from saying- Relax, Stop thinking about it, or This is what is meant to be.  When people say these things it makes that person feel like you are blaming them for something that is out of their control.  When dealing with infertility you feel like nothing is in your control and you feel powerless. Don't pull away from them for fear of upsetting them. Just make sure that you ask what that person needs from you as a friend. This will help that person knowing that they have someone who will listen when they are ready to talk.
